Bedroom makeover

On Monday I decided I was ready for a change in our bedroom decor. So the first picture (black, white and red decor) is before. And the brown and orange is after. Garth's current project is building us a log size bed to replicate something I saw on pinterest that used an old fireplace mantel as a headboard. Only, you know Garth, and that has expanded quite drastically into a full on built by hand long size bed with headboard and footboard. We found a lovely armoire at a yard sale we will be replacing the dresser with. Can't wait! Total cost of the makeover= $125. Not to shabby!

Yard beautifying

We did some much needed work on the yard today. Also note the growth in the garden and the tree.

Quilt

I finished a quilt I had an image of about 4 months ago. I got my moms wedding dress from my dads attic where it has been sitting for 25 years and I cut out some pieces from it to put in a quilt. I used the sewing machine for this one! (thanks Kim!) so here is the final product.

Panama city

We went to panama city beach this weekend to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We enjoyed many meals out, time on the beach, batting cages ad shopping. Here are a few glimpses into our trip.

Garden

Weekend yard projects

We were busy bees this weekend! We completed our backyard garden which is home to carrots, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peas, strawberries, peppers, raspberries, blueberries, zucchini, squash, cucumber and collards. The collards were on accident...thought I had broccoli in my hand!! Haha oh well.

I painted the garage floor while garth worked on the garden. It is complete with speckles and sealer. Pretty proud of myself on that one. Garth was convinced we didn't need to do it but man does it look good! See the before and after pictures and you'll know what I mean.

The next task is starting our patio addition. A much more timely process but totally worth it. It will have a pergola over top with grape vines running up it and a fireplace. Very anxious for some summer cookouts on the new patio.

New life

Of a tree that is! We have planted a tree in our front yard and it is supposed to grow up to 17 feet per year. I thought is would be a fun experiment to watch its progress on here. So here we go!

Time has flown

Boy has it been forever! And time flies...Christmas seems like yesterday

No reason for no blogs but I keep a lot of the new pictures on my iphone and I cant seem to get the iphone to post photos on this site...will continue to work on it so I can stay up to date!
No real big news down here in the bipolar weather state of Florida. I got my promotion before Thanksgiving and just got my raise so thats nice. The new position is wonderful, I'm very happy with everything. My facility is looking at expanding so that hopefully, can only mean good things for my future there.

We do have Disney annual passes now so we've been spending some time every so often exploring all of the parks which is a lot of fun. We're planning a full day there on Friday to celebrate Valentines Day.

Speaking of Valentines, Garth had a lovely box of flowers, chocolates and bubble baths sent to my work today. How sweet of him! So Happy Valentines Day to you all!
